My approach is a warm and gentle one. I am informed by an integration of mindfulness-based cognitive, narrative, relational, trauma informed, dialectical behavioural, expressive arts, emotional and solution focused therapies. For me, our therapeutic connection is critical to our success. I welcome your tears, your laughter, your sighs and your vulnerabilities. I have listened to many, many stories in confidence and have helped people refresh their authentic selves, their tender and robust feelings, their inner flame, their sense of belonging, creativity, spirit and connection in this world. Together with you, we can look at ways to do things a little differently so as to create new stories that support your sense of self determination, self compassion and peace of mind. I truly believe that darkness and light inform us as we grow and we change. Lastly, more often than not, for me, laughter helps change just about everything!

Mine is a small private practice, so my availability is limited, but flexible. I do book some sessions in the evenings or on a Saturday. I make sure to stay abreast of new developments in therapy through ongoing peer support, self reflection, reading and participation in relevant workshops. Also, I will provide telephone counselling and in some circumstances virtual therapy on an as needed basis. One of my favourite modalities is Walk and Talk!
What might we do in a session? Within the safe and confidential space of our session, I listen to your story, your uncertainties and dreams, your strengths and challenges, and together we set small achievable goals to create intentional change and establish healthy boundaries. I help you understand that you are separate from and so much more than your problems. Creative expression of your thoughts and feelings is highly encouraged. I use poems, stories, guided imagery, song lyrics and metaphors to promote personal growth, self-awareness and kindness.
